Wolf River Section IV is an awesome ride.  The river is clear you can see the bottom like 5 feet down as clear as can be.  This section does runs through the Menominee Indian Tribe, and permits are required.  They prefer that you call ahead to make reservations at Big Smoky Falls Rafting 715-799-3359.  When you arrive at Big Smokey Falls Rafting they will drive you to the put-in as part of the permit fee.  From there you will have quite a trip down to the take-out at Big Smokey Falls.  Pretty much all the major rapids and falls are scoutable ahead of time.  So, you can plan your decent though the rapids.  There are even a couple of snack bars along the way so bring some cash.  The first falls you come to is called Sullivans Falls and it is about a 7' drop.  Than you will come across a couple rapids called Upper Ducks Nest and Lower Ducks Nest with a surfable wave at the bottom.  Next comes Lunch Rock for a nice spot to rest and eat and there is also a surfable wave here to play in. After this there is Upper Dells and Lower Dells rapids.  Lower Dells ends up in between 2 cliffs and creates a nice ambiance.  Last but not least is Big Smokey Falls.  You want to try to hit the spot where it flares up the water it is the sweet spot.  Big Smokey Falls is about a 8' waterfall.
